A Trip to Ottawa - Capital City of Canada

Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.  It is a beautiful and tranquil place that is filled with fun and adventure so a lot of tourists from all over the world go there to explore and experience what the city has to offer.  Most of the historical places and points of interests such as the museums, libraries, parks, churches, schools, shopping centers, and eateries are conveniently located and situated in the heart of the city itself.

My family would go for a short road trip to Ottawa during the weekends as it is just near the town where we live in.  We would go there to admire the beauty of the city as well as explore the different restaurants and shopping centers nearby.  Compared to the City of Toronto, the atmosphere or ambiance in the City of Ottawa is more peaceful, calmer, and more relaxing.

For the Year 2019, the City of Ottawa has a population of more than 1,000,000 people.  Ottawa is also known to be one of the youngest cities in Canada because most of the people who live there are young professionals near the age of 35.  Here is a photo of the City of Ottawa Population road sign that I have taken while driving on the road.

Rideau Canal Ottawa

The Rideau Canal is 7.8 kilometers long and it is usually converted into a skating rink during the cold winter months.  It is often said that the Rideau Canal is the longest skating rink in the world.  Most families enjoy the winter festivities offered during Christmas Day and New Year's Day in Ottawa by skating at the Rideau Canal.

During summer time, a lot of boats usually glide through the calm waters of the Rideau Canal while most of the people do other recreational activities such as walking, jogging, and cycling while enjoying the wonderful view of the beautiful blue waters of the canal within the city.

When the spring season comes, the winter ice melts and the flowers begin to grow and blossom in Ottawa.  The Canadian Tulip Festival is usually held during the month of May.

When autumn or fall season arrives, the City of Ottawa is filled with vibrant colors of red, orange, yellow, purple, and green hues from the leaves falling off the trees.  People visit Ottawa to celebrate Thanksgiving Day and also to participate in the various Halloween events in the city.

Come and visit the beautiful City of Ottawa.  Indulge yourself in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoy the wonderful tourist attractions, different variety of food, and relaxing recreation activities that the city has to offer.
