These simple Palitaw rice cakes are boiled in a pan or wok with hot water and when these are ready, the rice cakes tend to float at the surface.

Here are the ingredients in making this simple and easy Palitaw recipe:
  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 cup grated coconut

Procedures on How To Make Palitaw

Here are the very simple steps or procedures to follow in making this Palitaw Recipe:
1.  In a bowl, combine the roasted sesame seeds and white sugar.
2.  Mix well then set aside.
3.  In another bowl, combine the flour and water.
4.  Mix well until dough is formed.
5.  Scoop a dough enough to mold into balls.
6.  Then flatten the balls with the palm of your hand.
7.  Boil water in a cooking pan.
8.  Put the flattened doughs one at a time.
9.  Cook until the dough rise up and float to the surface of the water.
10.  Remove the floating palitaw from the pot.
11.  Allow the palitaw to cool off for 10 minutes.
12.  Dip each palitaw in the grated coconut.
13.  Then dip in the bowl with mixture of sesame seeds and sugar.
14.  Arrange the palitaw in a serving tray lined with fresh banana leaves.
15.  Serve and enjoy with your favorite drink for snack, merienda, or dessert.
